On this page, please view and enjoy short videos (up to 10 minutes each) related to incubators and incubation. Here I will discuss specific units and their use/operation. Often, people send e-mails, asking about which incubator I would recommend personally. Well, there are several units I like and each has a strong aspect.
Review them all and then make your choice based on your personal needs and resources. I hope you find the information useful. All videos on this page feature cc closed captioning for the hearing impaired. The video below, features the Brower Top-Hatch Incubator This unit rolls, rather than tips the eggs during incubation. A very strong feature if you're hatching water fowl eggs. The entire unit rotates, so no added automatic turner is necessary.
Clear top view and good humidity control. The components come apart and can be placed in a normal sized dishwasher for sanitizing between hatches. The bottom screen is covered in plastic and also goes into the dishwasher. My top pick for ease of cleaning and is what I use for actual hatching. For example, I use the Little Giant for incubation, then transfer the eggs to the Top-Hatch unit on the 18th day.
This helps keep the Little Giant units clean. In the video below, I review the Lyons ROLL-X model RX2 incubation system. This is my pick for the absolutely uncompromising breeder or embryology student/class.

It's expensive, but comes with top grade components that are sure to last many years. The unit I exhibit in the video is one I've personally used for many years. When detailed hatching records are kept and absolute control of relative humidity, temperature are paramount, this is the unit. An external reservoir provides absolute control of humidity levels within the unit, allowing you to keep full, without opening the incubator. This allows you to keep the water resource full and you can see the reserve water level without opening the incubator.
There is a primary solid state temperature control, which has absolute increments for temperature adjustment. Manga gantz sub indo. 1/2 turn equals 1 degree of change.
1/4 turn,.5 degree change. For the science minded individual, this allows you to keep very specific records. There is also a back-up thermostat in case the first fails for any reason. It may be adjusted, but comes factory set at 101 deg. Should the primary thermostat fail, this secondary safety, prevents cooking your valuable embryos. Two thermometers provide wet and dry bulb readings for relative humidity control. Again, allowing the operator to provide the ultimate in control over the incubation process.
